A: A leak-check charge is applied when a will-call customer runs out of propane because there is a loss of pressure in the tank. To avoid this charge, either enroll in the automatic delivery program or make sure to call for a delivery when your fuel level reaches 30%. To avoid a leak-check service charge — not to mention for your safety and peace of mind — consider installing one or more propane gas detectors.
